No need to "Pimp My Ride"

I just love my set of wheels! It's a convertible. Not like a Corvette or a Cabriolet kind of convertible, but the top is a car seat and the bottom is a foldable stroller which neatly fits in the car trunk.

This is my first time to get out of the house. We are off to the mailbox at the corner. We're also here to test drive my new "convertible". Before I was born, my Mom and Dad used to look at this empty stroller and all they could do was just dream and sigh. Now, there's a real baby inside - ME!

Last week's snow has melted but it sure feels like some new snow is coming. Inside my stroller, I'm all zipped up, warm and "snug as a bug in a rug".

My Dad had to take his turn pushing my stroller on the way home.

If it's Tuesday, then it must be my "weekday"

I am one week old today. (Yawn!) That was a nice, long nap. Is it feeding time yet?

Finally, we're home at LaPrairie

I slept thru the whole drive home from the hospital. What was in that sugar water they gave me? Tia Monica and Grandma were waiting at home.

I like this house. I think I'm going to stay.

... and on the fourth day, I went home

My Mom and I are taking a stroll near the nurses' station.

We take a look out the window towards St. Joseph's Oratory. The first snowfall of this winter came on my birthday.

St. Mary's Hospital is nice but nobody wants to live here. My Mom, Dad and I have been here for a week now. We've got to go home. The car seat is ready but first, I have to stay under observation for about an hour more. I will just have to sleep this off a bit, then we'll be ready to go home.

I am not a problem drinker

I am not a problem drinker. I just have this problem with drinking from a dinky, little cup. Put that cup between my two hands and "Bottoms up, Dad!" Someday I'll get the hang of this milk-drinking business. Just give me a break. I'm only three days old!

The family that eats together ...
Lunchtime at the hospital for Dad, Mom and ME!

And Grandpa wants to burp his new "boy toy" but I pay no attention and go to sleep on him.

My name is Nathan and I am 2 days old

My Mom and Dad kept to themselves for the longest time the names that they were thinking for me. The day I was born, I opened my eyes, my Mommy looked at me and said "You look like a Nathan!" And so, Nathan it was!

Here is my picture on my second night at the hospital. Tonight, I am determined to exercise my lungs and keep Mom and Dad up all night. "My name is Nathan!"

This is going to be a well-pictured family

My Mommy gets a turn behind the camera. Here, my Dad gets his first try at swaddling me while my Mommy yells out instructions, "Wrap him like a burrito!" I ended up being wrapped with one arm over my face. That wasn't too comfortable but it looked like I was giving my Dad a salute. "Nice job, Dad!"

My Mom labored hard but, hey! I had a pretty rough time too

Eight hours after I was born, I was still red-faced from all that exertion. This has been a long day for everyone, even for Dad.

I was born at 7AM, November 22, 2005

HELLO, WORLD! HERE I COME! ALL 9 POUNDS OF ME!

I was not quite cleaned up yet and here comes my Dad looking me over. Grandma looks so thrilled to see me. All her pictures with me today had her looking like the Dalai Lama with her hands clasped together like this.

Pardon me if some pictures here are a little dark. The photographer didn't want to hurt my less than one-day old eyes with the sharp camera flash.

My Auntie Monica is all smiles because I finally get to wear the clothes she bought for me.

The day before I was born

41 weeks and I was just feeling much too comfy inside Mommy's tummy. In this picture, she gets to bounce on a rubber ball beside her bed to induce me to come out. Here, she manages a smile for the camera because another contraction had just passed. My Dad's job was to keep track of how much time there was between contractions.

The contractions have become unbearable and Mommy had to take the epidural. It made her feel better but it left her shivering and feeling cold. With Mom well wrapped in a blanket, she and Dad still took the time to kid each other, narrating while videotaping.
